Being tucked away in the east corner of the U.K, the clouds

have often dropped all their wet stuff long before reaching Southend, making our region the DRIEST in England. The Met Office, by their own admission, says that U.K. Weather forecasting is virtually impossible to predict and no more so than in our part of the world.

The climate in the south-east of England is a good one. We’re in a warm, dry location - the warmest and driest in the UK, as a matter of fact! Just look at the images on the right...

 

These charts show we’re not making it up. You can see average annual temperatures, and average annual rainfall. As you will notice, where we’re located is down in the driest part of the UK whereas the north-west, for example, is a rather wet location!

 

Great Wakering, a small town a few miles from Southend, has repeatedly been awarded the title of ‘Driest Place in the UK’. With accolades like that, you can be sure Southend is the best seaside resort to visit.
